Events at KMLHS and in the SYNOD

Koiné, - The Church Band, a Christian band bringing a new vibrant sound and feel to traditional Lutheran and Christian songs, will be at Christ Lutheran in Pewaukee for a Lenten worship concert on Saturday, March 20.  This worship concert will take the place of our normal Saturday evening worship and will begin at 7:00 p.m. instead of our usual 5:00 p.m. start time.  Use this opportunity to invite your friends and neighbors to join you for a night of Christ-centered music.  Christ Lutheran Church is located on Highway 164 in Pewaukee, one-quarter mile south of Capitol Drive (highway 190), or one and three-quarters miles north of Interstate 94 off exit 294.  To find out more about Koiné’s ministry visit www.koinemusic.com

WELS Band Festival - The 50th Anniversary of the WELS Band Festival will be held the weekend of March 12 - 14, at Onalaska Luther High School, the site of the first festival. The event will be celebrated with two 80 piece bands made-up of students from all of the WELS area Lutheran high schools and prep schools, a commissioned piece composed by Dr. Timothy Mahr, and attendance by former WELS band directors. The guest conductors for the festival include Dr. Mahr, Prof. Terry Treuden from WLC, and Paul Wendland and Wes Schmandt from KML. Students representing KML include: Angela An, Benjamin Becker, Jennifer Yatso, Zach Brandt, Anna Henning, Karl Schmirler, Michael Werni, Caleb Schwab, Daniel Schultz, Arin Lemke, Jesse Zellmer, Alex Karnopp, Erik Sohlden, Stephanie Lippert, Patrick Thompson, and Eric Stein.

KML will be looking at new students and returning students as part of our international student population.  We rely on families who are willing to be host parents for these students.  If you would be willing to host a student or would like to receive information about being a host family, we invite you to attend a meeting for host parents on March 18, at 7:00 p.m. at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.  If you can't make that night, call Pastor Hughes @ 677-4051 and he will make alternate arrangements.
