Purpose: To engage students (gr. 5-8) in the reading of quality, age-appropriate literature and offer them the opportunity to discuss content with peers while led by a faculty member.
To deepen their understanding of literature and of the world around them.
To offer the opportunity to apply their Christian values to characters and situation in the literature.

Book reviews from our students
2006 - '07Grade 5 & 6 Books:
A Year Down Yonder
³³³³³(gr.
6)
I
liked the book because it was very funny. Grandma had great jokes to
do on people but they were never for her good.
Walk Two Moons
Hope Was Here
³³³³(gr.
6)
It was confusing but that's what made
you keep on reading. The names were hard to pronounce which made it
different. All in all it was good.
The Watsons go to Birmingham

I LOVED this book!!!
It had me wondering every page, what will Stargirl do next?! I loved
the message it sent, to always be yourself. Jerry Spinelli is a great
author! Keep the books coming.
