5k Run and 2-Mile Walk
Thank you to all who participated in the 2012 Blazer Race on Saturday, September 8 at Bethlehem Lutheran School. Proceeds from the Blazer Race benefit Bethlehem Lutheran School's Education Fund and the Germantown Fire Department. This year there were nearly 150 participants who enjoyed a beautiful morning run or walk.
Many thanks to our event sponsors: Ninski Bros., Dr. John Juern, Jeff Zarder of First Weber, Greg Mustapich, Ben Carr and Bryan Jansen of Thrivent Financial for Lutheran’s Gateway Associates, Ryan Barbieri of Willis, Team Oasis, Gross Tax Service, and Dunn’s Sporting Goods.
The Germantown Fire Department provides prevention and fire protection services, emergency medical services, and public education services for more than 19,500 residents. The Survive Alive House is the department's biggest educational initiative and provides education for all ages in a variety of topics ranging from fire safety to CPR training.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church was founded in 1960 in Menomonee Falls. Its school opened in 1962 and due to tremendous growth, added a second campus in Germantown in 2001. A building expansion soon to be completed at the Germantown campus will include 4 additional classrooms, a multipurpose room, restrooms, and mezzanine space. Bethlehem Lutheran’s congregation has grown to more than 1,700 members and enrollment in Bethlehem Lutheran School exceeds 300 students from grades 3K through 8. Bethlehem also has a thriving daycare.
The date for the fourth annual Blazer Race in 2013 has not yet been set. Stay tuned to our website, BlazerRace.com for more information.
